A Wet And Miserable Manchester Morning

So work took me today to Stockport for my first job of the day. From where I was, I could hear the aircraft but due to the poor weather conditions they wasn't visible. How the weather has changed over the past few weeks. I have a few days off towards the end of the month so weather permitting I plan to venture once again to the South Side Spotting locations.

So once my work was completed and was told to head back down the motorway back to the depot, I headed to Level 13 on the Car Park to catch the morning heavies!.

The following where noted around 0845 this morning:

    SP-RKC Ryanair Boeing 737-800

Quick call into East Midlands on the way home

So after leaving Leeds Bradford I made a stop at Donnington Services and then it was a pit stop at East Midlands Airport. Always nice to see the Boeing 747-400F on the ground, this visit I was lucky enough to catch two of them in the liveries of Saudia and One Air.

In the Airbourne Colours was what looked like a CRJ900 of cityjet being paint in SAS colours, but the door wasn't open fully so I couldn't get the Registration as it was nose on to the hangar door.

Here's what was noted around 12:45 on the 28th August:

    EI-EKD Ryanair Boeing 737-800
    EI-EST Ryanair Boeing 737-800
    9H-AKA Saudia Boeing 747-400F
    EC-JXF Swiftair ATR72F
    G-DHLE DHL Boeing 767-300F
    G-BMRA DHL Boeing 757-200F
    G-ONEE One Air Boeing 747-400F
    G-DHLK DHL Boeing 767-300F
    G-BMRJ DHL Boeing 757-200F
    G-NPTF West Atlantic ATR72F

One that I couldn't see sadly was Boeing 737-800F A9C-JNC Which was in the hangar for painting or repairs I guess.

A Long Over Due visit to Manchester Airport

A free Saturday, so I headed up to the northwest for a long over due visit to Manchester Airport. For me the only place to go to spot at Manchester is southside close to runway 23L. I'm currently having computer issues so I can't process and photos or make videos so another day with only the log book.

For me the Manchester is one of best in the United Kingdom if not Europe for plane spotters for photography locations and the amount of different of airlines using the airport.

Trip Report And Log Birmingham 31st May 2025

So being in the city centre tonight dropping the in-laws off for a evening meal I decided to pop into Birmingham Airport to see what was on offer. The roof level of car park 7, the Elmdon multi-storey car park is now open again to pedestrians only with access via the two stair cases. Be on your best behaviour as there is CCTV in operation.

The main reason or excuse to go there was the night stopping Boeing 737-800F of Bahrain Cargo Airline Texel Air A9C-TXY.

The following where logged:

    A9C-TXY Texel Air Boeing 737-800F
    OE-LFM Zimex ATR72F
    G-JZBO Jet2 Boeing 737-800
    G-TUIN TUI Boeing 787-9
    TC-RSC Biz jet
    D-IBLK Biz Jet
    G-DRTL Jet2 Boeing 737-800
    9H-QCS Ryanair Boeing 737-800
    G-SUNG Jet2 Airbus A321Neo

    EI-IKP Ryanair Boeing 737Max8-200
    D-AILA Lufthansa Airbus A319
    G-FDZS TUI Boeing 737-800
    OY-SYA Maersk Air Boeing 767-300F

    EI-DWG Ryanair Boeing 737-800
    F-HBLO HOP EMB-190
    CS-GLM Biz Jet
    D-AIBK Lufthansa Airbus A319

The only other aircraft of note for myself was the recently delivered Aer Lingus Regional ATR. Catching that was more by luck than judgement as it was operating over an hour late!

Birmingham (EGBB/BHX) 18th September

With the funeral of the late Queen Elizabeth II tomorrow many Heads of States are arriving in london this weekend, but with aircraft parking space very few and far between in the London area some aircraft are being parked up here at Birmingham and some have even gone as far as manchester. So with a couple of spare hours I went to over to birmingham. The main reason for going was to catch the State Of Kuwait Airbus A340-500, This was not only the first visit of the aircraft itself but also of the aircraft type I believe. Here's what i noted:

Terminal:

    A6-ENH Emirates Boeing 777-300
    EC-NCT Vueling Airbus A320Neo
    EI-HDI Aer Lingus Regional ATR72
    G-ORAI Aurigny ATR72
    OE-INI easyjet Europe Airbus A320
    OE-LKD easyjet Europe Airbus A319
9K-GCC State Of Kuwait Boeing 737-900(BBJ3)***

Elmdon:

    2-TSSA Weststar Boeing 767-200***
    (See Picture In Post Below)
9K-GBB State Of Kuwait Airbus A340-500***
    (See Picture In Post Below)
A9C-ISA Bahrain Royal Flight Boeing 737-800***
    G-JMCL West Atlantic Boeing 737-300F
    N767A Aramco Boeing 767-200***
    T7-JAZ Biz Jet***
    2-HXFJ Lease Co Airbus A330
    G-KJAS Hans Air Airbus A330
    HA-KAM Fleet Air ATR42F

It was lovely to see some old and rare aircraft. For myself like the airport the A340 was the first time not only see the aircraft but seeing that series of the A340. So six in the book for todays visit
