Bobbington Airport has beome a construction site!

So today I visited my local Airfield, Wolverhampton Halfpenny Green (locally known as Bobbington).

But to my surprise it was closed, well to fixed wing aircraft anyway. This is due to a large amount of redevelopment and construction work which is on going.

The biggest part of these works are all three runways are to be resurfaced,  aswell taxiway alpha and foxtrot.
The fuel bay has been dug up and will be replaced with concrete.

New LED lighting for runway 16/34 and helipad number 5.

And finally new PAPIs for runway 16/34.

All the above information was take for the airports official website.

Their Facebook page has been giving updates of how the work is progressing.

Check out my video of how the Airfield looked today
