When I photograph at the airports, I often use planespotters.net to get the information of how to get there and other helpful information like security risks and travel to the spots.
Birmingham Airport (EGBB/BHX)
These are my usual two spots I go to when I visit Birmingham Airport. The second one at the viewing area can work out very expensive parking on car park 5. I would recommend using the train to Birmingham International Train Station and then jumping on the monorail to the airport and walking up to the viewing area. From the train the station to the viewing area, should take no longer than 10 - 15 minutes.
